About Us

Beechwood is a day care centre that opened in 1990 – we are celebrating our 20th anniversary this year! We are based in Stockport, but our patients travel to us from throughout the North West of England. Basically, Beechwood aims to provide psychological help and support to patients, carers and family members who are affected by cancer or other life limiting illness.

Within our welcoming surroundings we offer a range of free support including “1 to 1 talk time”, complementary therapies and group sessions to help anyone to cope with the problems they may have to face with any life limiting illness – especially cancer.

Beechwood Family Support Service offers confidential counselling and support to all family members where somebody has been diagnosed with a serious illness, or there has been a bereavement. Although there is a particular focus on the needs of children and young people, family members of all ages (including grandparents) are welcome to access this service.

How will Fashion Kicks Help Beechwood?

Fashion Kicks will help us to improve, update and continue to run our Family Support Service, previously funded by Children In Need.

Our aim is now to construct another floor above our education block dedicated to this service. The construction costs will be £175,000, while the annual running costs will be £50,000.

Any contribution from Fashion Kicks will go towards these totals and will be greatly appreciated.
