Manchester City
Manchester City is delighted to be a partner in this year’s hugely exciting Fashion Kicks 2010.
Through our award winning website www.mcfc.co.uk we will be providing exclusive photographic and video coverage of the event including a peek backstage.
We will follow its progress from start to finish documenting the hard work and planning that goes into the event and the joy it brings to those involved and those who benefit.
Along the way we will be charting to City players who have volunteered to be models on the night and sharing the general sense of fun that goes with such an important fund raiser.
Everyone at the club from Shay’s teammates through to Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak is backing the fund raising efforts which complement all the amazing charity work done at the club.
As an organisation we are proud that the vast majority of our players are involved in charity work raising hundreds of thousands of pounds over the course of every season.
It is work that doesn’t always get the wider publicity it deserves but means so much to those who benefit. The impact footballers’ charity work has on the community should never be underestimated.
Jane and Shay have been striving tirelessly for years raising vast sums of money for charitable causes and we are delighted that their move from Newcastle to Manchester City has not prevented that wonderful work from continuing.
We are immensely proud of this club’s record at helping the wider public in any way possible. Our CEO Garry Cooking is on record as declaring that our community is the cornerstone of this club and, through the tremendous work undertaken by City in the Community (CITC), we engage with hundreds of thousands of people every year, making a huge difference to the lives of those around us
City in the Community (CITC) was founded in 1986, aiming to forge closer links between our Club and the local Manchester community.
Now with a team of 20 full time and 30 part time staff CITC run projects based around four key areas: Sport & Adventure, Health, Young People and Skills & Enterprise.
Every year our award winning team engages with over 300,000 people of all ages and across all communities over Manchester, Tameside and Stockport.
Social responsibility is deep seated in our Club’s heritage and essential in its future and in this City in the Community plays a central role.
Everyone involved with Manchester City in any capacity is part of the ‘City family’. Together we share and work to resolve issues and develop hope and aspiration across the community.
That is why we embrace totally what Jane and Shay are aiming to achieve and urge everyone who can to get behind the project and make it the best event of its kind ever staged.
